A to Z Challenge: Bookish Thoughts: E

E Is for Espionage

This is a difficult genre for me.  It's very outward-looking, which limits its possibilities. It's also plot-driven, which often leads to lengthy books.  But some of my favorite books are espionage novels.  Anyway, the recs:

  1. Don't read a lot in this genre but I have been reading some of the James Bond classics of late.

    1. I think it's easier to find good mystery writers than spy novelists. But Fleming was good, and Le Carre as well. Ambler was good, but he veered off into other genres often. Greene was more of a mainstream novelist who occasionally wrote espionage stories.
