G Is for Goodreads
www.goodreads.com
Positive:
Good way to keep track of books one has read.
A lot of reviews from readers.
Personal cyber shelves, which you can name yourself.
The First Reads program, which offers members the chance to win free books.
Authors as members. Discover new authors or catch up with ones you already like.
Online groups, so you can connect with others who share your interests.
Negative:
Their rating system doesn't allow halves.
They allow authors to rate their own books.
Listed book lengths are often inaccurate.
Anyway, recommended books I have won through the First Reads program:
I love Goodreads, but the negatives really annoy me. I track the number of pages I read every year, and the Goodreads number is always very different than the number on my spreadsheet.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
That does seem annoying.
DeleteI utilize Goodreads, too, to keep up with what I've read over the years. I agree with wishing that they allow a 1/2 rating system.
ReplyDeleteI don't have goodreads
ReplyDeleteNot sure what the equivalent would be for film buffs. Have you tried IMDB?
