Frankenbest Friday

A card from each page in my completed frankensets.  If not the best, one that stands out to me for whatever reason.

Getting basketball done before the season ends:

-  Walton's family was the subject of a popular TV show back in the day.

-  Maravich died while playing basketball.

-  5'7" Webb on 7'0" Daugherty.  Sort of.

-  Lanier guarding Wes Unseld.  The Bullets showed up as the other team on a lot of cards in this era.  Like Topps only had one photographer.

-  Not a fan of the backwards jersey, but The Logo is a good card to have.

-  Rodman giving Bird an elbow to the chops.  Not all heroes wear capes.

-  Michael Cage appearance on that Karl Malone card.

-  David Robinson on the Olajuwon card.

Frankenbest Friday

A card from each page in my completed frankensets.  If not the best, maybe a card that stands out for some reason.

You don't get entertainment like this on Netflix.

Let's start with a baseball frankenset.

-  Morris was a college punter.  The Rookie is based on him.

-  Tyson's a same name.

-  You know you're in Texas when they're naming teams after guns.  Umbricht pitched the '63 season with cancer.

-  The one-hand phenom.

-  So good, all of MLB retired his number.

-  Pritchett attended the first h.s I attended.  Though he was a senior when I was in eighth grade.  Saw him hit a half-court shot to send a playoff basketball game into overtime which they won.

-  Buice was part owner of Upper Deck.

-  Burke originated the high five (with Dusty Baker).  First MLB player to come out as gay.

-  Brown was discovered while in prison.

-  Gladding led the NL in Saves in 1969, the first season it was an official stat.

-  Peterson was a wife swapper.

-  Messersmith played a key role in free agency coming to MLB.

-  I've told my McGraw story enough times.

-  Some say Schmidt is the best baseball player since Willie Mays.

-  Teoscar modeling the COVID fashion.

-  Phillies legend Joe Morgan.

-  Same name with Fisher.

-  When Baines said he wanted to be a Hall of Famer, they said it was only a pipe dream.

-  Phillies legend Curt Flood is the last card in the frankenset - # 360.
