The one that stands out to me as the biggest surprise is Oscar Gamble. I don't know why; maybe just because I haven't seen that card before and he was before my time.
2 other players I could think of that most wouldn't have known that played for the Padres due to the fact most associate these players with just 1 certain team like they are Gaylord Perry & Mickey Lolich.

ReplyDeleteYeah, Gamble bounced around a bit.
DeleteFantastic list of random Padres.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteThis was a cool scroll. Willie Davis...and Oscar Gamble...the things we forget.
ReplyDeleteDavis with the infamous Dodger / Padre combo. Garvey did it better, but he was too obvious.

ReplyDeleteI thought of Perry. Went with Maddux instead. Then I just forgot about him when I was posting the bench players.
DeleteI didn't know about Lolich. Thanks for the info.
Winfield looks like such a badass on his '78 Topps card.
ReplyDeleteYeah.
DeleteI didn't know that Gamble and Davis were Padres. Great stuff.
ReplyDeleteGamble in '78 and Davis in '76.
DeleteWillie Davis was new to me.
ReplyDeleteJust 1976.
