Thursday Thoughts

Happy National Ice Cream Month

(even if you live outside the U.S.)

Bloggish News

I had been experimenting with the comment notification feature, for when I comment on other people's blogs.  It didn't go so well though, so I'm not doing that very much anymore.  Still occasionally checking back on my own.

In my unofficial contests, Ericka currently has one point and Jenn currently has one point.  Everybody else has some catching up to do.  (Including you, Mila.  I know you lurk.)

I experimented with posting book reviews, but it didn't go so well.  I'll probably post more, but not as frequently as I was.  I wish I could review books like A.J. Sterkel does.

Other News

I tried to donate blood and got rejected again.  Might have to retire.

I was pleasantly surprised by Final Girl, a poetry collection from Daphne Gottlieb.

Reading Endless Night, by Agatha Christie.  I read it at night, as one does.

  1. YAY! I hadn't even started keeping track of my books for your challenge yet until I saw this post. I was like, "I have 1 point already?" You're more on top of my reading than I am apparently... LOL! Here's my checklist:

    Horror
    Espionage
    GBT
    Music -
    Play -
    Starts on Page 1 -
Has intro by someone other than author -
    Set in Asia -
Was Made into a Movie -
FINISHED - A book by a famous author, but not the book author is best known for - Wifey by Judy Blume

    1. You got a point for the Madonna shirt question. A Music Monday, I think it was. Jenn's was for Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.

As for the Reading Challenge, the second round won't start until mid-September at the earliest. Then the third round is tentatively scheduled for January.

    2. I had completely forgotten about the Madonna shirt! My head is filled with all kinds of 80s trivia like that.

  2. I hope it is chocolate ice cream:) I tried the notification thing too but I stopped. I also am not sure but someone said they didn't know I left a response because it didn't go to her e-mail. I know when I leave messages like here, I get a failure notice sent to my e-mail and not sure why. All strange to me

    1. If you wish it to be chocolate, it shall be chocolate.

She should check her junk / spam folder if she's not getting emails she should be getting. That's the extent of my expertise.

    1. I saw the movie for that. I've seen at least 8 of his movies, but I've only read 5 of his books.

(Now I'm wondering if that was the first prom horror movie. I'll try to look it up.)

    1. Thank you.

Not sure why I didn't reply earlier. Probably because I wanted to think of something more interesting to say, which clearly I have not done.
