Pitchers who have thrown a perfect game in MLB during my lifetime.
- Barker's was in 1981. The last one before I was born was Catfish Hunter, in 1968.
- Ron Hassey caught both Barker and Martinez (1991).
- The Yankees went back-to-back with Wells (1998) and Cone (1999).
- Halladay (2010) really turned his career around when he joined the Phillies.
- That's Philip Humber next to Halladay.
- The last three were all in 2012.
That's a lot of perfect games since the early 80's. I think if someone just asked me out of the blue how many PG there's been since 1980, I would have guess 6 or 7. But after seeing these names, I definitely remember some of their games.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think it's a bit strange. MLB has really been helping hitters since the late 1990s. But 2 in 2010 and 3 in 2012. Though there haven't been any since 2012, which seems more expected to me.
