Fleetwood Mac is better then the Queen
The Beatles--you can safely assume they'll always get my vote.
ReplyDeleteDuran Duran--never got much into U2 but it's close.
Rolling Stones, easy.
Bee Gees--I LOVE their early stuff.
Genesis, mostly for the Gabriel years.
The Who.
Pink Floyd--neither is a favorite of mine but easy decision.
Fleetwood Mac.
I hope you're not defining "pop and rock" as excluding all R&B.
I had to get it down to 64 somehow. So rap / hip hop and country are out.
DeleteThe closest to R & B are probably James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Beyonce, Eric Clapton, and Jimi Hendrix.
Beatles
ReplyDeleteU2
Rolling Stones
Led Zeppelin
Garbage (toughest one, Garbage more my style)
Pretenders
Fleetwood Mac
Forgot a category: Pink Floyd over Def Leppard
DeleteThis is awesome! Here are my picks (based on my musical preferences). Looking forward to seeing how things play out...
ReplyDelete1. The Beatles vs. The Police: The Police
I really like The Beatles, but The Police are a Top 5 band for me.
2. U2 vs. Duran Duran: U2
This was a very tough decision. There was a time when Duran Duran was one of my favorite groups. Ultimately I went with U2, because I listen to more of their music as an adult.
3. The Rolling Stones vs. AC/DC: AC/DC
Although I'm only a casual fan of AC/DC... I'm still a fan. Never really been into The Rolling Stones
4. Led Zeppelin vs. The Bee Gees: Led Zeppelin
This one is much closer than I'd like to admit. If I was ranking all 16 bands... these would fall into the #9 and #10 spots.
5. Genesis vs. Garbage: Genesis
I really like Genesis and I don't really know much about Garbage.
6. The Who vs. The Pretenders: The Pretenders
Both bands are solid, but this falls into a battle of eras. And I was an 80's kid.
7. Def Leppard vs. Pink Floyd: Def Leppard
I like Pink Floyd... but I love def Leppard.
8. Fleetwood Mac vs. Queen: Fleetwood Mac
Fleetwood Mac is another Top 5 band for me.

6. The Who
7. Def Leppard

8. Fleetwood Mac
1. Beatles
ReplyDelete2. Duran Duran
3. The Rolling Stones
4. The Bee Gees
5. Genesis
6. The Who
7. Pink Floyd
8. Fleetwood Mac
1. The Beatles - something about Sting's voice irks me
ReplyDelete2. U2 - Not a fan of either band, but U@ has more songs I like
3. AC/DC - Or as my daughter likes to cal them "Acka Dacka"
4. Led Zeppelin - No contest
5. Garbage - Easy win over Gabrial-era Genesis, much closer with Collins-era
6. The Who - Surprisingly tough choice here
7. Pink Floyd - Surprisingly easy choice here
8. Queen - This band could find success with any genre of music
