Scored some free cards from Brett, of the Garden State.
- Pro Bowler in 1956. AFL All-Star in 1961.
- 2x Pro Bowler. All-American for Virginia in both football and lacrosse.
- 2x All-Star. Played every position in MLB except for pitcher and catcher.
- Military policeman during World War II. Nine consecutive hits as a pinch hitter.
Thanks, Brett.
Billy was good, man!

Deletevintage and free sounds like a winner winner chicken dinner
ReplyDeleteYep.
DeleteGlad you liked! Like I said in my note, I won some cards from you because you didn't have any baseball from 1956, so I figured it was only fair I fix that situation.
ReplyDeleteBilly Goodman is indeed an underappreciated player--and a guy I use in Immaculate Grid all the time.
Yeah, I need to get better at picking old--timers in that game.
DeleteGreat cards. Nice Yankee Stadium frieze shot on the Dave Baltimore card (shouldn't have kept the name Dave Philley since the Philley A's had traded him away a couple years earlier)
ReplyDeleteYeah. Reggie Cleveland never played for the Indians, unfortunately.
DeleteWasn't familiar with Philley until today... but he was an impressive man. 9 consecutive pinch hits is pretty awesome. Serving your country during a World War is even more awesome.
ReplyDeleteYep.
