The Go-Go's --I'm sure they won't win, but I'm not a big Doors fan, and I do like the Go-Gos OK although I prefer the Bangles. There's a special on the Go-Go's on the CW tonight BTW.
Chicago--love their early stuff. My wife and father are both big fans. Took my Dad to see them live a couple times.
10,000 Maniacs. Don't like Journey at all.
Guns N' Roses. Not a big metal guy but I like some of their stuff.
Blondie--like them a lot.
Creedence Clearwater Revival. All-time greats. Funny that they're paired with VH--I think "Finish What Ya Started" is VH trying to sound like CCR. Not coincidentally one of my fave VH tracks, certainly my favorite with Hagar.
Simon & Garfunkel--love 'em!
The Beach Boys--absolutely love 'em! Other than the Beatles I don't know that I'd vote for anyone against them.
Doors (hardly a fan, but Go-Gos' run/output was a little too short) Chicago (for first dozen years or so, otherwise it'd be Eagles) 10,000 Maniacs (heart of college era) Foreigner Blondie (top 10 band for me) Van Halen (up there as well) Simon & Garfunkel The Cars (tough voting against Beach Boys but Cars were everything for a few years there for me)
1. The Doors - not a fan of either really 2. The Eagles - There's a reason their "Greatest Hits" album is one of the best selling all-time 3. 10,000 Maniacs - From my little part of NY. One of my old college professors was actually the father of the woman who replaced Natalie Merchant when she left. 4. Guns N Roses - Ruled MTV for awhile there 5. Aerosmith - Unwritten rule: You must try to hit the high notes of "Dream On" whenever it comes on. 6. Van Halen - It's an unpopular opinion, but I like Hagar more than Roth 7. Simon and Garfunkel - musical geniuses 8. The Cars - the video for "You Might Think" remains one of my earliest music memories
